The consumer software-defined radio digital receiver platform, which is the result of collaboration between Titus SDR/Patron X, Jasmin-Infotech, TWR, and Fraunhofer IIS, supports multi-standard radio reception, including DAB and DAB+.The system is based on a custom Android tablet platform, featuring multipoint touch, WiFi/Bluetooth and stereo sound.

Radio / Tele FFH GmbH & Co. BetriebsKG, the operator of radio stations HIT RADIO FFH, planet radio and harmony.fm, is planning the expansion of DAB+ in Hessen. The group, which is currently only broadcasting its programs in the Rhine-Main region via DAB+, is now aiming at future nationwide distribution.

Australia

The Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) has extended DAB+ Digital radio trial licences in Canberra and Darwin for 12 more months. This is the second time the licence has been renewed, following its issue in 2010 and the first extension granted in 2011. The extra 12 months will buy extra field testing and continued coverage modelling to be used for DAB+ rollout in other regional areas.

Radio listeners in the Göttingen area are now getting their NDR programmes in even better quality. The new Göttingen DAB+ transmitter supplies the region between Northeim and Friedland in Lower Saxony. NDR's radio programs will also be received via DAB+ in Moringen, Hardegsen, Dransfeld, Rosdorf and Nörten-Hardenberg.
