Digital radio sales continue to climb, recording sales of nearly 75,000 in the second quarter of 2012, bringing the total number of digital radios sold since the 2009 launch to 908,311 according to information from the Q2 2012, GfK Marketscope report released by Commercial Radio Australia (CRA) today.

Norkring has been awarded the contract from Public Radio network NRK to extend DAB coverage up to 99.5% of population until end 2014.
Norkring has signed a contract with the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation on further development of the digital radio network (DAB). The agreement ensures a population coverage of 99.5% by the end of 2014. The contract includes the development of today's agreement on 90% coverage up to 99.5% coverage.

LM Radio the station for Happy Listening is now trialling on Mobile's TV, DMB, from the Sentech tower in Brixton
T&W Management Pty Ltd the owner of LM Radio, and Mobile TV Pty Ltd signed a memorandum of understanding on 17 July 2012 whereby the LM Radio programmes will be carried on the Korean developed Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) paltform operated by Mobile TV.

Digital Radio Passes 40 Percent Share in London
In London the figure this quarter was 51.4 percent. The U.K. government has stipulated it will not implement the digital radio switchover until 50 percent of all listening is on a digital platform and DAB coverage reaches 90 percent of the population.
