DAB+ design styleguide updated for new formats

DAB+ has established itself as the leading digital radio standard across Europe and beyond. As the technology continues to gain ground in new markets, consistent and recognisable design and marketing communication becomes increasingly important — not least because hardware suppliers such as device manufacturers and automotive partners operate across national boundaries and require reliable guidance on how to present the DAB+ brand visually and in their campaigns. Broadcasters equally depend on clear and consistent brand guidelines to ensure coherent communication within their respective markets.

This styleguide was developed by ARD for the German market. Given the international relevance of coherent DAB+ design and marketing, it is made available free of charge and may be adopted as a reference framework by organisations and partners worldwide.

This 2025 update builds on the DAB+ design styleguide established in 2017. The 2023 design extension addressed print applications and introduced initial steps toward regionalisation; all previous requirements on the use of the DAB+ brand remain in effect.

The updated guidelines now cover all media, including online applications, social media, moving image formats and radio. They apply to both nationwide and regional campaigns and are intended for use by ARD and DAB+ market partners. In addition to graphic specifications, the guidelines define minimum requirements for wording and verbal brand communication.
