Ford’s latest SYNC 3 infotainment system is being offered on the Fiesta for the first time. Using an eight-inch tablet-inspired touchscreen, SYNC 3 features DAB radio across the range, along with USB ports and Bluetooth connectivity as standard.

The Radio industry has launched its new mobile streaming app featuring 250 radio stations. “RadioApp is the best way to stream radio on your smartphone because it puts commercial AM, FM and DAB+ digital radio stations as well as ABC and SBS stations all into one place,” said CRA chief executive officer Joan Warner.

Myanmar Radio and TV (MRTV) will start a DAB trial after having launched a public tender, which has been won by the Hong Kong based system integrator BTL. DAB equipment developer and manufacturer Paneda will provide DAB Head-End Equipment and support. The trial will start with one transmitter in Yangon - the country’s largest city.

There are currently 339 radio stations broadcasting on DAB in the UK, up by 56 stations in the last 12 months. This is in addition to the 100+ stations on the DAB mini-muxes as part of the Ofcom small-scale DAB trial. The statistic is just one from the latest annual report from Ofcom on the progress of digital radio in the UK, as requested by Government as part of the Digital Radio Action Plan.
