An update from the WorldDAB Automotive Working Group
Drivers love radio, to the extent that 82% of people in the UK wouldn’t buy a car without it. Since the 2017 WorldDAB Automotive Event, we have developed a set of digital radio UX guidelines for broadcasters and OEMs, worked closely with industry groups to develop guidelines on best practice for broadcasters in marketing DAB+, and a specialised Task Force has been commissioned to assess the impact of Antenna and Receiver Performance. Further updates will be provided at Tuesday's WorldDAB Automotive 2018 event in Munich.

DAB+ to be deployed in French-speaking Belgium following amendments to decree
Minister of Higher Education at the Wallonia-Brussels Federation Jean-Claude Marcourt has described the transition to DAB+ digital radio, following the Federation's decision to amend the draft decree relating to audiovisual services for French-speaking Belgium.

Romania reveals results of public DAB+ consultation
The Romanian regulator ANCOM has said it will propose legislative amendments ahead of a new DTT tender due to take place in the second half of the year. This follows the results of a public consultation on the spectrum available in the FM band (174-230 MHz) aimed at transforming a VHF digital TV multiplex into four DAB+ national multiplexes.

Romania's ANCOM to make changes to enable digital radio multiplex tenders
Romania's National Authority for Management and Regulation in Communications (ANCOM) will propose some amendments to enable the auctioning of digital radio multiplexes in the country. President Sorin Grindeanu said the tender process would begin in the second half of 2018.

Wallonia-Brussels government approves decree to launch digital radio tenders
The government of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation has approved a decree to call for DAB+ radio tenders, along with a new FM frequency plan. Once voted in by parliament, the government will launch two calls for applications, for both DAB+ and FM.
