Lower Saxony is getting a new state-wide special-interest radio program: In yesterday's meeting on March 31, 2022, the assembly of the Lower Saxony State Media Authority approved the organisation and state-wide distribution of the "Antenna Schlager" special-interest program. With “Antenna Niedersachsen – Schlager”, a pure music program is already available via web radio. This will continue to exist. It is supplemented by the new program "Antenna Schlager", which is to be distributed primarily via DAB+.

Another lecture on digital radio broadcasting within the Digital Radio in Schools project returns for the second time to the Secondary School of Industry and Higher Vocational School in Písek on Tuesday, 5 April 2022. Students will learn about the latest digital radio broadcasting platform, the current state of the art in the country and the world, and technical details such as broadcasting frequencies, digital multiplex content, transmitting antennas, transmitters and single frequency networks (SFN).

With a new DAB+ transmitter in Itzehoe, radio listeners between Wilster, Wacken, Hennstedt, Wrist, Horst and Krempe will be able to get their NDR programs in even better quality from March 29, 2022. In Hohenlockstedt and Kellinghusen, too, the NDR radio programs can be received on block 11B (218.64 MHz) via digital radio. The range of programs offered by the DAB+ station includes the NDR offers, which are also broadcast on FM, such as NDR 1 Welle Nord, NDR 2, NDR Kultur, NDR Info and N-JOY. In addition, the digital radio stations NDR Schlager, NDR Blue and NDR Info Spezial can be heard exclusively.

DAB+ radio will launch in Gold Coast, south of Brisbane, Australia, on April 4, bringing nine new commercial radio stations to Australia’s sixth-largest city, according to industry body Commercial Radio Australia. The launch will make Gold Coast the 10th city in Australia to have DAB+. Broadcasters ARN and SCA will launch the new DAB+ stations, while existing stations Sea FM, Triple M and Hot Tomato will be simulcast on DAB+ and continue on FM.

Small-scale DAB has arrived in Salisbury with the switch-on of the city’s new DAB+ multiplex by Muxcast Salisbury. In a joint venture between Nation Broadcasting and BFBS, 18 services are now available in the area including locally owned and operated Salisbury Radio which officially launches at 5pm today (Monday). Two transmitters are powering the service, which is the second permanent small-scale DAB multiplex to launch in the UK following Tynemouth and South Shields in December 2021.

The small-scale DAB multiplex for Derry/Londonderry will be launching soon and the operator is looking for more stations to join. Foyle DAB Ltd has been working behind the scenes and plans to have the multiplex up and running by the summer. Foyle DAB’s Manager, Richard Moore said: “We are getting very excited at this stage. it will be the first small-scale DAB service to be launched in Northern Ireland and we are delighted it is in the North West.
