In a crisis, every minute counts. To mark today’s National Warning Day, Media Broadcast and Deutschlandradio are launching the new ASA DE service. In future, official announcements in the event of hazards and crises will be broadcast via the Germany-wide DAB+ platform on channel 5C. This is being implemented in collaboration with the Federal Office for Civil Protection and Disaster Assistance (BBK). The system is based on the Automatic Safety Alert (ASA) and is now entering its roll-out phase. To receive ASA DE, listeners will need to perform a station scan on their DAB+ radio. Listeners can find further information at www.dabplus.de/asa. ASA DE complements the so-called ‘warning mix’ within the federal government’s Modular Warning System (MoWaS). In future, safety information can thus be disseminated specifically via the DAB+ digital radio standard, alongside traditional warning methods such as sirens, apps or cell broadcast.

Paneda is pleased to announce that RTBF, the public broadcaster serving the French-speaking community of Belgium, has selected Heynen-Paneda as the supplier for the modernization of its DAB distribution platform following a recent public procurement process. The new platform will be installed at RTBF’s new state-of-the-art Media Square facilities, which have recently been completed. The project has been won and managed by Heynen, Paneda’s long-standing partner and system integrator in Belgium and the Netherlands. Heynen successfully secured the contract, with Paneda providing the DAB head-end platform and core broadcast technology.

Édouard Geffray, Minister for National Education, and Sibyle Veil, Chair and Chief Executive of Radio France, signed a new partnership agreement on Friday 4 September 2026, aimed at strengthening their shared commitments to pupils and the educational community. This autumn, Radio France will also launch a new DAB+ radio station: Mon Petit France Inter. Originally a web radio station, this new channel from the public broadcaster – 100 per cent dedicated to young children, 100 per cent screen-free and bringing together all of Radio France’s children’s programmes – will help to boost the distribution of educational and entertaining content, complementing the work of the educational community.
