KPN and the Dutch Public Broadcasting (NPO) have signed an agreement to deploy a distribution network for digital and terrestrial radio in the Netherlands. The agreement is effective from 1 December and will run until 1 September 2023.

In the current issue 3/2012 of Digtial TESTED tested ten Internet and DAB plus radio stations in the laboratory. Winner of the 2D model Sangean WFR-was (MSRP 449 €). The test showed that there were digital radio receivers from Pure, Grundig, Dual, Blaupunkt (each up to 200 €), Sangean, Roberts Radio and Geneva (from € 200 each). Selected for the test equipment from Avox Technologies, Logitech and Terratec do not have DAB +.

Switzerland

Between autumn 2011 and early summer 2012, some 500 students from German-speaking Switzerland produced their own digital radios in their design and technology lessons. The electronic components had to be put together according to a fixed plan, but the students had a free hand in designing the casing¬. The radios were entered in a competition, which featured some very sophisticated and original models.
