The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Indonesia (KOMINFO), Radio Republik Indonesia (RRI), WorldDMB and the ABU to hold a DAB+ Technology Showcase in Jakarta, Indonesia
This DAB+ technology workshop and transmission demonstration will comprise of a two day technology workshop followed by a two day transmission trial and field measurement exercise in and around the city of Jakarta, Indonesia from 24- 27 September. The event is jointly organised by the Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union, Ministry for Communications and Technology, Radio Republic Indonesia and WorldDMB.

Six new stations in operation
Currently there are six new stations locations along the federal highways in Hesse, Lower Saxony and Brandenburg. Since its launch in August 2011, the number of stations in the nationwide network has thus increased from an initial 27 to 46. The superintendent of Germany Radio Willi Steul was pleased with the rapid expansion of supply. "This is an important step in securing the future of radio in the digital world. The Public Service Committee today propose a switchover from FM to digital radio for Sweden.
Martin Holmgren, Chairman of the Committee:
-We suggest that the public broadcaster, Swedish Radio, take a central role and act as an engine for digitalization. Also, Swedish Radio should be given financial means for a network and content expansion of digital radio. This also means good incentives for the commercial broadcasters to roll-out digital radio in collaboration with the public service broadcaster.
