Radio industry urged to 'secure its own future with euro-chip'
"This work has resulted in what we call the Euro-Chip Campaign, fully backed by EBU Members," said Ms Nyberg-Frankenhaeuser. "It is historic because never before have public radio broadcasters been able to agree on one common message; to say with one voice to the industry, 'if you join in and make sure there will be free-to-air broadcast in every radio device, then we promise to provide the content needed.'" she said.

Digital radio expands its presence in the Audi range
Following the ratification of a local digital radio coverage agreement between the Government, the BBC and commercial radio broadcasters in 2012, the reach of digital radio coverage has expanded to such an extent that the service has now become a valuable addition to the Audi standard specification. A programme of local transmitter builds is currently underway, giving listeners local stations on DAB digital radio for the first time, with a total of 14 new transmitters to be built by 2015.
