The animated character was created by digital radio industry body Digital Radio UK and the BBC. He appears in regular radio and TV advertising across, acting as an advocate and evangelist for digital radio.

Prospective broadcaster Mobile TV will expand its trial network using Korea’s digital multimedia broadcasting (DMB) technology, to the Western Cape and the Free State, founder Mothobi Mutloatse said on Wednesday. Mobile TV has already run a trial using DMB — which offers radio and video broadcasting services along with interactive “datacasting” — in Gauteng. It switched on test signals in the province in December 2010.

DAB+ radio receivers continue to sell well, according to Commercial Radio Australia. 68,417 DAB receivers were sold during 2Q2013, bringing the total number sold since the 2009 launch of the service to 1,318,596.
