Two new digital radio transmitters in Caernarfon

TWO new digital radio transmitters have been activated in Caernarfon. Ed Vaizey, Minister for Culture and the Digital Economy, said: “The future of radio is digital and this is part of a major expansion of DAB digital radio coverage across the UK.” The switch-on means listeners will be able to receive digital versions of BBC Radio Cymru, BBC Radio Wales, Capital and Smooth, and two additional stations, Nation Radio and Nation Hits, will be available for the first time in the area only on DAB digital radio.

More choice for Selby radio listeners as North Yorks DAB goes on air

Local DAB launches in North Yorkshire

Local DAB digital radio services have launched in North Yorkshire today in the final new DAB multiplex launch of the year. Further stations are expected to be added in the middle of 2015, when changes to the DAB service in Yorkshire are scheduled.

Digital radio boost for North Yorkshire

The big switch-on took place at The Racecourse in York. The four new transmitters launching at Bilsdale, Acklam Wold, Harrogate and Oliver’s Mount will bring DAB digital radio coverage for local stations from zero to over 81% of the population in the area - around 700,000 people - and they will add over 935kmof roads into local DAB coverage for the first time.

Megaradio to broadcast in DAB+ in Hesse

The LPR Hessen Assembly has authorised the broadcast of Megaradio on DAB+ for the Hesse region. The station will broadcast 24 hours a day including German language content from the Russian state broadcasting company 'Voice of Russia'. The approval is subject to the provio that LPR Hessen, a modified co-operation agreement with the Zulassungsnehmerin the "Voice of Russia" is presented.
