Switzerland

At the Geneva Motor Show 2015, the automobile industry will be able to tune in to a variety of DAB+ services from the public broadcast SRG-SSR and from the commercial broadcasters, reports WorldDMB news. Switzerland is committed to digital radio and is one of the countries currently discussing switching off FM, following the announcement of the first FM switch off which will take place in Norway in 2017 (or latest 2019).

The CSA has authorised the extension of a DAB+ trial of the Nantes and Saint-Nazaire regions until 30 June 2015.

"Reports from Nkom and Media Authority show that the plan in the White Paper of 2011 has worked very well. We believe the media's report showing that the requirements are met, but is awaiting the Government's assessment." says Ole Jørgen Torvmark, CEO of Digital radio Norway.

Digital radio is on-air again at Geneva Motor Show 2015. Once again the automobile industry is at the heart of DAB+ digital radio in Switzerland. This year the automobile industry will be able to tune in to a variety of DAB+ services from the public broadcast SSR-SRG and from the commercial broadcasters.

After a successful transition from analogue to digital terrestrial TV broadcasting in the whole of Central Europe, a similar process in audio broadcasting is expected in near future, with the aim to co-ordinate this process within the Visgrad Four (V4) countries.
