SRG and private radio associations plan marketing campaign for DAB+
Representatives of the SRG and the private radio stations on Wednesday signed an agreement which defines the transition from analogue to digital. In the paper, the arrangements regarding finances, organisation, responsibilities and marketing will be regulated.

BBC national DAB radio reaches 95% population
The BBC has launched a further 20 national DAB transmitters bringing the total number of transmitters to 299 and covering more than 95 percent of the UK population.
This is part of the current phase of their digital radio network expansion plan, bringing a further two million people into the coverage area and increasing coverage from 93 percent to 97 percent by the end of 2015.

LDC pledges public support for Listen2Digital
Listen2Digital, one of the two bidders for the second national commercial digital multiplex, has received the public support of private equity firm LDC.

Minister in talks with the automotive industry on DAB+
The Minister for Economic Affairs has spoken of his commitment to have new more cars equipped with DAB+ as standard. Abroad, automakers continue to deliver more of their cars with DAB+ radio as standard. In the United Kingdom and Norway, more than 60% of all new cars come with a standard DAB+ receiver.

In a final session at last week’s Digital Broadcasting Symposium, a panel of experts looked at monetising new digital developments. In the same session, Les Sabel talked about the opportunities to monetise digital radio transmissions, using a combination of IP and broadcast technologies.

New Regional DAB+ Networks Planned for the Netherlands
