MobileTV South Africa has been granted additional trial licences by ICASA
MobileTV has been granted additional trial licences by ICASA to test the Korean Digital Multimedia Broadcasting (DMB) technology also in East London, Port Elizabeth, and Durban- Pietermaritzburg service area for six months.
These service area licence follow that already granted for Cape Town and Bloemfontein surrounding areas, according to MobileTV’s founder and chairman, Dr Mothobi Mutloatse.
‘ We have proved beyond any shadow of doubt in the important hub of not only South Africa’s and equally the rest of Africa’s economic hub – Gauteng – that DMB is robust, dynamic and a viable mobile television digital radio and datacasting technical of unequalled world class capabilities,’ Mutloatse stated. ‘ The Gauteng trials end on Friday on a high note – having trialed Mindset education ‘‘cum laud”, to borrow a phrase.
‘ Perhaps the Afrikaans saying: bietjie—bietjie maar meer, is more apt. ‘ Every step counts’, he added.
