WorldDAB members at IBC2026: RFmondial

Jens Schroeder, Managing Director, RFmondial, Hannover, Germany

Give us a brief introduction to your organisation and the role it plays in the radio sector

RFmondial offers professional products and services for the digital broadcasting industry. Research, development and prototype implementation for transmitter, receiver, and monitoring technology as well as design services are further more part of our core business. With our broad experience in different technological areas we serve world-wide markets.

What DAB+ products or services are you showcasing at IBC2026?

We are showcasing our RF-DAB product line, with the latest features for Automatic Safety Alert (ASA): On the one hand in-depth monitoring of ASA incl. alarms, logging and location codes; on the other hand forwarding occurring ASA alerts to several regional DAB+ networks, which then signal the DAB+ consumer receivers to react to the alert by switching to the national program. Other new extensions are the local storage of maps for mobile field drives as well as the integration of a spectrum analyser frontend as an ETL replacement for transmitter and band-filter validation.

Furthermore, the spectrum analyser fronted is an integral part of our DAB modulator / exciter module LV5e, which is ready for shipping and has been tested with DAB+ transmitters showing equivalent performance compared to other solutions. In-depth analysis of incoming EDI streams, integrated SFN timing monitoring, and much lower power consumption are features that can be a unique selling point for broadcasting customers. The LV5e is an OEM fully digital broadcast exciter, which can be easily integrated into existing transmitter designs.

What are you most looking forward to at IBC2026?

For companies concentrating on audio broadcasting, IBC Hall 8 is a lively environment to meet partners, as well as existing and potential customers. We are specifically looking forward to discuss with broadcasters to discuss implementing ASA and with transmitter manufacturers the integration of our DAB+ exciter into their products.

What’s your best tip for a first-time visitor to IBC and/or Amsterdam?

Make a guided boat tour on the variety of canals (called Grachten) through the heart of Amsterdam.

Where can we find you in RAI Amsterdam, and is there a specific contact to ask for? [Name/email address - both optional]
