Viaplay Group Radio is set to become the leading player in digital radio
Viaplay Group Radio is strengthening its position as Sweden’s leading commercial radio operator after being awarded twelve national digital broadcasting licences (DAB+) for the period 2026–2034. The decision, announced today by the Swedish Media Authority, makes Viaplay the largest operator on the national digital radio platform and paves the way for greater diversity and a wider range of radio services in Sweden. Today’s licensing decision by the Swedish Media Authority means that Viaplay Group Radio may continue to broadcast its current eleven digital radio channels during the upcoming licence period, 2026–2034, and also launch an additional national channel.
