mabb puts DAB+ capacities out to tender and promotes digital switchover

At its meeting on 29 January 2025, the Media Council of Medienanstalt Berlin-Brandenburg (mabb) decided to invite tenders for several DAB+ transmission capacities for private radio broadcasters. Additionally, for the first time, mabb is launching a parallel funding programme to make it easier for private radio broadcasters to switch to digital distribution channels. ‘With this funding programme, we are supporting the digital transformation of the radio market in Berlin and Brandenburg and are fulfilling our mission as a media authority to provide citizens in the region with diverse local journalistic content across the board,’ says mabb Director Dr Eva Flecken.
