DAB+ in audio trends: Two million additional households listen to digital radio

DAB+, today's digital radio, continues to be a powerful driver of radio digitisation. According to the results of the latest Audio Trends survey by the German Media Authorities, the use of digital terrestrial radio continues to rise. In Germany, a total of around 66 million people listen to linear radio – whether via traditional receivers or online. Three-quarters of them access digital services via DAB+ or the internet. This corresponds to 51 million people, or more than three quarters of all radio listeners. Compared to the previous year (2024: 49 million), the use of digital reception channels has increased slightly. The net digitisation rate, i.e. the number of people who have access to digital reception channels, is 77 per cent.
