Taking place at the EBU Headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland and ONLINE


This session will explore the technical and operational factors that underpin a resilient broadcast transmission network. Topics include transmitter infrastructure and site reliability, energy supply and backup solutions, and redundancy within antenna systems. It will also examine signal delivery to the transmitter, including signal feeding and distribution, as well as the stability and resilience of the headend, the core system responsible for signal creation and distribution to transmission sites.

About WorldDAB Spectrum & Network Implementation Committee

The Spectrum and Network Implementation Committee provide guidance on DAB network implementation including how to build a transmission site, multiplexing and sound processing, monitoring and signal distribution and data service implementation. This Committee also monitors and lobbies to ensure frequency availability for DAB+.

Hanns Wolter
Technical Director, DAB Italia and Chair, WorldDAB Spectrum and Network Implementation Committee

Hanns has been working in the DAB world since 2000 as a Product Manager and has, in these years worked on all issues regarding DAB, at both a national and international level, including the introduction of DAB+ in 2007. He is involved in network planning and spectrum issues and also works closely with hardware manufacturers for the deployment of a comprehensive DAB environment. Currently, he is responsible for the planning and management of the ongoing roll-out of DAB Italia’s network and all issues related to the creation, distribution and transmission of the multiplex.

Arne Borsum
Product Manager, 2wcom Systems

Arne Borsum is Product Manager at 2wcom Systems and a DAB system expert, responsible for the strategic direction of audio solutions for modern broadcast workflows. With nearly two decades of experience in professional audio and broadcast technology, he previously worked at Fraunhofer IIS on the deployment of audio coding standards into broadcast infrastructures. He later spent seven years as Product Manager for DAB head-end systems at IZT before joining 2wcom in 2022, where he combines deep technical expertise and market insight to guide product strategy and innovation.

Alexander Kurz
Sales Director EMEA, GatesAir

GatesAir’s Alexander Kurz is a driving force behind the company's sales and business development in the EMEA region. With over 25 years of broadcast industry experience, Kurz joined GatesAir in 2019, bringing a wealth of expertise in digital TV/radio transitions and quality assurance solutions.

In his role, Kurz oversees the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and extends his influence to many European, CIS, and Middle Eastern countries. His deep understanding of the evolving broadcast landscape, particularly the growing popularity of DAB+ radio and the shift from DVB-T to DVB-T2, positions GatesAir at the forefront of broadcast tech advancements.

Kurz's vision aligns perfectly with GatesAir's commitment to reliable high-efficiency transmitters, addressing the changing habits of video consumption while recognizing radio's enduring appeal. His expertise in IP-based transport methods also supports broadcasters in their transition to more flexible and efficient content delivery systems.

Lars-Peder Lundgren
CEO, Paneda Sweden

Lars-Peder Lundgren has been involved in DAB from the beginning, with 25 years in the DAB business. He brings wide experience across several technical business areas including telecoms, radio communications and broadcasting. He joined Paneda as Sales Director in 2014 and has been CEO since 2020. Prior to joining Paneda, he oversaw international technical sales at Factum Electronics. Paneda develops and sells DAB related technology, including DAB head-end systems with multiplexers and audio encoders, road tunnel break-in system and related DAB systems.

Tork Niendorf
Software Developer, 2wcom Systems

Tork Niendorf, an experienced software developer at 2wcom Systems since 2012, specializes in DAB and audio distribution systems. His key contributions include groundbreaking projects in Audio over Satellite and IP systems, DAB over Satellite, and MPX over Satellite. Tork’s expertise as the main developer of the DAB+ Encoder showcases his commitment to advancing audio technology. He has also led the development of EDI over SRT solutions for DAB distribution over unmanaged IP networks.

Ing. Carlo Perotta
Sales Manager, Aldena

Carlo is a Sales Engineer and member of the Board of Directors of ALDENA, a provider of broadcasting antennas used in more than 125 countries globally and the EMLAB radio network planning software, since 1979.

Carlo obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunication Technologies Engineering at Politecnico di Milano.  He gained experience as an RF engineer consultant for mobile network operators and telecommunication companies.

In 2007, he joined the broadcasting industry and ALDENA where he has taken part in planning projects for several different countries as well as actively working in antenna design and service planning for digital broadcast systems such as DAB+ and DVB-T2.

Currently, he also responsible to the ALDENA's EMLAB software tool development.

Wolfgang Peters
Managing Director, AVT Audio Video Technologies 

Wolfgang Peters completed his studies in electrical engineering with a focus on communications technology at RWTH Aachen University in 1991. He then joined Philips, where he was involved in the development of audio codecs. In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft in Erlangen, he developed the first MP3 ISDN hardware codec.

As team leader for codec development, he began working on DAB systems in 1995, collaborating with Deutsche Telekom, Rohde & Schwarz and Fraunhofer.
In October 1996, AVT GmbH was founded as a spin-off from Philips. There he moved into sales without giving up his passion for technology.

In 2011, he was responsible as project manager for the system integration of the digital radio relaunch at almost all ARD stations. He took over the management of the company in January 2021.
