Local DAB multiplexes are estimated to cover 66.2% of households.
The BBC’s coverage of its national services will reach 93% by the end of 2011. The BBC’s Tim Davie has confirmed the BBC will build out to 97% coverage of its national services by a target date of 2015. The third new major transmitter around London, Epping Green, will shortly launch. Together the three improve coverage for over 9 million people and add around a quarter of a million new households into coverage for the first time.
Government and the broadcasters are continuing to make progress on agreement of the local funding plan for DAB, and are aiming to complete a Memorandum of Understanding by year end.

Local DAB multiplexes are estimated to cover 66.2% of households; the BBC’s national DAB multiplex covers 92.2% of homes (which will increase to 93.8% by the end of this year) and the comparable figure for the national commercial multiplex is 84.6%. Ninety-three per cent (93%) of main TV sets are connected to digital television and carry some radio services, and 75% of homes have an internet connection.
