Digital radio becoming more popular in NL

Around one million people in the Netherlands listen to the radio from their tablet, double the number reported for 2011, according to industry association RAB, based on data from Intomart GfK's Trends in Digital Media.

Local DAB mux switched-on in Trento

DBTAA “Digital Broadcasting Trentino Alto Adige scarl” is the Trento first of new local DAB multiplexes that will be launched in the next year. DBTAA consortium is made by 11 local FM radio and they “on air” in Trento city since December 21st. DAB+ channel 10A In Trento 26 the available programs for Christmas: 7 from the National Public Service Mux of RAI, 8 are from the national commercial radio DAB+ MUX on channel 12C of Club DAB Italia scrl and 11 of the local MUX of DBTAA, all of them are simulcast programs, so far, enriched with DLS and SLS innovative functions. Very soon all broadcasting consortiums having the get the rights will extend and harmonize digital radio transmission to cover the full region of Trentino Alto Adige where RAS and DABMedia where on air in Bolzano province since years now.

National digital radio is growing in 2013

The national network for digital radio will be completed in 2013 with new locations. As Dr. Chris Weck (Radio Germany) and Thomas Guard (Media Broadcast) announced in the recent interview with INFOSAT, six new stations extend the distribution range in the channel 5C in the upcoming year. The following locations are planned: Geislingen, Würzburg, Wendelstein, Chemnitz-Geyer, Minden and Gelnhausen. "Our goal is very clear, in the long term by FM Digital Radio will replace, the analog broadcast over FM" said Dr. Weck.
