Does my receiver support DAB, DAB+, DMB?
DAB, DAB+ and DMB digital radio and DMB mobile TV are part of the Eureka 147 technology standard and can be broadcast using the same network infrastructure as they are compatible. Different countries have used whichever part of the standard most suitable to that market for example the UK uses DAB, Switzerland uses DAB and DAB+, Australia uses DAB and in France they have chosen DMB radio while in South Korea DMB mobile TV is used. The recent growth of multi-chip receivers means that it is possible to have one receiver which works in all markets and contains all of the benefits from each part of the platform. The WorldDMB Receiver Profiles were designed to ensure this was the case and a more harmonised radio receiver market is starting to develop.
Original DAB receivers are not upgradeable to either DMB or DAB+. DAB+ receivers can be backward compatible with DAB. Any DMB receiver is capable of receiving both DMB video services and DAB and DAB+ audio services.
