IZT presents its latest broadcast solutions at IBC

Local DAB minimux celebrates 12 months on-air

Norway's vision for DAB+ in tunnels

With the DAB+ switchover planned for 2017, the Norwegian Road Authority plans to increase coverage and the number of stations carried. All tunnels longer than 500 meters that are used by over 5,000 cars a day will need to be covered with DAB+ and will offer all available radio stations.

DAB can offer increased security in tunnels in Norway

Public Roads Administration operators have previously used FM signals to send important safety messages to drivers in tunnels. But only those listening to a specific FM frequency would receive the messages. One of the advantages of DAB is that emergency service messages can be heard via the DAB radio, whatever radio station the driver is listening to.
