Fix Radio launched by world's richest plumber

Fix Radio, the new London DAB station aimed at tradespeople, has been launched by Charlie Mullins, the world’s richest plumber. The station went on air at 7am on 26th April with breakfast show presenters Trev and Ben.

CSA report finds that 12% of French households have a DAB receiver

The Conseil supérieur de l’audiovisuel (CSA) has published a report on television and radio equipment in French households. The results for radio are positive, as 99.2% of individuals have at least one medium to listen to the radio, with 12% of French households having a DAB receiver.

Radio Dead taking DAB spot previously occupied by Forever FM

Forever FM, launched just last week, has announced that it has been pulled after an objection to the use of the name “Forever FM”. Owner of the station, Steve Penk, confirmed that his other station Radio Dead will be taking the DAB spot previously occupied by Forever FM in Manchester.

Preparing for a smooth radio switch-over

On April 21, P4, Radio Norge and some local radio stations will terminate their FM transmissions in Trøndelag and Møre og Romsdal. Next NRK will switch off their FM transmissions on April 26 in Telemark, Buskerud, Hedmark and Oppland. The radio switch-over will be implemented in the rest of the country during summer and autumn 2017.

German government to make mandatory the presence of a digital interface to most radios

Germany's Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWi) is working to promote digital radio services by mandating certain features in new radios. Their draft recommendation recommends that high-quality radio receivers may only be sold if they are suitable for the reception of digital signals.
