More Britons are listening to commercial radio than BBC stations consistently for the first time in nearly a century of broadcasting, according to figures from the media regulator. The greater choice of national stations available on DAB has led to a boost in listening for commercial broadcasters.

With the commissioning of two additional DAB+ transmitters, the Hessian Broadcasting Corporation will expand its digital radio network as of August 8.

On June 1, the Media Council of the Bavarian State Center for New Media approved the simulcast distribution of the Franconian local radio stations.
