Slovenia’s Broadcasting Council is targeting 2 February 2022 as the date for the country’s digital radio switchover. The Council proposes the 2022 date, which it said coincides with the timing of other proposed transitions within the framework of the updated legislation.

Standard inclusions are those iconic Alpina 20-inch alloys, Nappa leather interior, four-zone climate control, heated and ventialled electric seats, 10.25-inch iDrive infotainment system with DAB+ radio and sat nav, Harmon/Kardon sound system, heads-up display and a sunroof.

The National Broadcasting Council of Slovenia (SRDF) has decided to switch from VHF to DAB + in Ljubljana, with the most important radio stations to stop their FM broadcasting on 22 February 2022 and distribute their programs exclusively via DAB+.

On 19 June, the City of Lille will receive radio broadcasting in DAB+ with a launch day in the presence of politicians, major retailers and radio stations, following Strasbourg and Lyon.

The 108 has also received a technology boost, with a seven-inch colour touchscreen that provides smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirror Screen, which enables you to use smartphone apps through the car's control system. The system also includes DAB radio, USB and auxiliary inputs and is standard on the Active model and above.

The recent WorldDAB Automotive conference was the occasion to announce record sales of DAB+ receivers in the world in 2017, with 12 million receivers sold. Nearly half (5.9 million) of sales of these receivers have been in original equipment in cars. Cumulative sales of DAB / DAB+ receivers have now reached 65 million.

“More than 560,000 of the new cars sold in 2017 were fitted with DAB+ radio,” said CRA chief executive officer, Joan Warner. The number of DAB+ digital radios generally in Australia continues to grow with strength, with the latest figures reflecting an increase of 24% in units in the past 12 months.
