Austrian Association of Private Broadcasters promotes DAB+ as part of future media landscape

Swiss digital working group DigiMig calls for FM switchoff from 2021

Switzerland's Digital Migration working group (DigiMig) has called for the country to switch off FM services from 2021, with completion a year later, as a result of ongoing growth in digital radio services. The working group states that current DAB+ service gaps will be eliminated by 2021, with a new national timetable for switchover to be published in 2019.

DAB+ to be launched in Lille on 19 June

39 radio stations will start broadcasting in DAB+ in Lille, which includes 27 that are not broadcast currently on FM. The CSA has also planned to launch calls for applications for two national multiplexes which will be able to accommodate up to 26 additional radio stations.

EU Countries Assess Digitization and Other Spectrum Challenges

RTI announces Czech Digital Radio Day

Key 2 on AM and DAB rebrands as Key Radio – RadioToday

Manchester’s AM and digital station Key 2 – formerly known as Magic 1152 and Piccadilly – has had a slight name change as a result of the launch of Hits Radio. The station, which shares all its programmes with the other Bauer ‘2’ network stations in England (except Radio City 2), has become Key Radio.
