DAB+ digital radio was launched in Germany in 2011 and was initially broadcast nationwide over 27 broadcasting stations. By the end of 2016, it is expected there will be 110 digital stations.

There’s plenty of standard kit included on the X4 35d, Bi-Xenon headlights, DAB+ Digital radio tuner, Dynamic damper control, a great sounding Harman/Kardon Surround Sound system and sat-nav.

Both versions come with more standard equipment, which includes the configurable Audi Virtual Cockpit instrument display, 550-Watt/13-speaker Bang & Olufsen audio with Bluetooth and digital radio.

The LG Stylus 2 is the first smartphone that is available with a DAB+ available in Germany.

Standard extras on the Twingo The Colour Run include air-conditioning, daytime running lights, electric front windows, DAB digital radio with AUX and USB connectivity.

SCA has launched two new DAB+ brands, Easy and Oldskool. SCA’s Head of National Content and Development Dave Cameron said, “With DAB+’s rapidly growing audience in Australia, and as the biggest commercial landholder of digital radio spectrum in the country, SCA continues to expand its portfolio of music channels."

DAB Italia (previously Club DAB Italia), the first national operator for DAB digital radio, has changed its name and has announced plans to reach 85% DAB coverage by the end of the year.

The digital radio app for smartphones enables listeners to switch between DAB+, WiFi and 3G/4G. Over 60 DAB+ stations have united in the creation of the app. The app is now available on the LG Stylus 2 DAB+. LG Stylus 2 DAB+ is currently the first only smartphone that offers the opportunity to receive DAB+ signals.

On Monday 12 September WorldDAB is hosting a session titled ‘Looking to the Digital Future: Digital Switchover Progress and Plans’. The significant issues being addressed in this session are the status of digital radio broadcasting in various countries as the DAB platform continues to spread across Europe, and specifically the commencement now of the switch-off of analogue FM radio - rather than the continued simulcasting of both analogue and digital services.

The car comes as standard with climate control, navigation system and DAB radio.
