A new small-scale digital radio multiplex is set to launch in Cork in August for a 12-month trial. Under a licence from ComReg, the experiment will be operated by éirdab and have the facility to provide around 20 radio stations.

There are four bluetooth speakers presented by Geneva, with a very elegant retro line that recalls portable radios of the last century. In fact, two models also have a radio section with DAB + and FM to complete the use.

Bavaria's new Minister for Digital, Media and Europe Georg Eisenreich has confirmed that the state government's view is that DAB+ should be the sole radio standard. Hits Radio, the new near-national service from Bauer Media in Manchester, has launched in London with test DAB transmissions. Hits Radio will replace Key 103 in Manchester on 4 June.
