Denmark: Sharp increase in digital radio listening

Digital radio is on the rise in Denmark. In the first quarter of this year, 33% of the population listened to digital radio. Two years ago it was just 21%. The Danish government has agreed that if it hits the 50% mark, the FM band will be shut down within two years and DAB+ will be the main way for listeners to receive radio broadcasts.

Commercial Radio Australia released the separate audience data from GfK for digital radio (DAB+).The biggest cume audience 10+ in the Sydney market for regular radio broadcasts is Nova with 974,000. However, the biggest DAB+ cume audience 10+ in Sydney is 82,000 listening to Coles Radio.
