Overview
The WorldDMB General Assembly is the flagship event of the year and brings together the international digital radio industry.
It offers unparalleled opportunities to discuss the current issues within the digital radio industry and to create a better understanding of the challenges affecting the market. The WorldDMB General Assembly enables networking with the key decision makers as well the opportunity to meet old friends and build new relationships.
Both WorldDMB, and the digital radio industry as a whole, has had a very busy and successful year. We look forward to meeting with you all and sharing our activities over the past year, as well as hearing about your successes and the challenges that you have faced in your drive to bring digital radio to the consumer.

WorldDMB has block booked a number of rooms at the Penta Hotel to ensure delegates receive a special rate. We urge delegates to book these now by contacting the hotel directly and quoting 'WorldDMB'.

How to get there
The General Assembly will be held the day after the WorldDMB Automotive Workshop in Berlin. For delegates who are attending the Automotive workshop and the WorldDMB General Assembly there is the option of taking a train from Berlin to Leipzig Central Station.
Trains depart every hour from Berlin and if you opt for the fast ICE train, you’ll be in Leipzig in about 70 minutes. Tickets usually cost about $55, but if you book early enough and check out the website of the German Railway (in English), you can often find special deals.

Networking opportunities
With key digital radio industry stakeholders expected to converge for the 18th WorldDMB General Assembly, the two day conference will be the ideal place to discuss and debate key topics, make new acquaintances and catch up with old friends in a relaxed and vibrant setting. You will be welcomed on the first day with a buffet lunch and over the two day conference there are plenty of scheduled networking opportunities such as coffee breaks and the Gala Dinner.
Networking Drinks
Delegates who register for the Gala Dinner are invited to join us for networking drinks at Regiocast prior to taking a short stroll over to the restaurant that is less than 5 minutes walk. Click here for a map.
Gala Dinner
The WorldDMB Gala Dinner is the social highlight of the two day conference. This year it will be held at the historic Auerbachs Keller in the heart of Leipzig. The venue with its traditional decor, German food and beer lends itself as the perfect setting for a relaxed evening with industry colleagues and friends. Find out more here. Places are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis with WorldDMB members given priority. Non members who are keen to attend will be placed on a waiting list and will be notified as soon as places become available.

Registration
WorldDMB members are welcome to register up to 2 free delegates for the conference. If more than two delegates are required to represent your organisation, or if your organisation is not a member of WorldDMB the following fees will be applied:
WorldDMB Members £150
Non-WorldDMB members £300

WorldDMB Award for Outstanding service
- Nominations are now invited for this prestigious award presented annually by WorldDMB at its Annual General Assembly Dinner which this year will be held on 15 November 2012 in Leipzig, Germany. Please note the closing date for nominations is 5 October 2012.
- The Award is given to a member of WorldDMB (individual) who is renowned for his or her exceptional efforts in carrying out the promotion and roll-out of the DAB family of standards
- The award is offered in memory of Per Erik Selemark of Swedish radio, past Vice-President and Chair of the Technical Committee, who died in January 1999
- Nomination procedure
If you know a person who you feel deserves to be recognised for their Outstanding Service to WorldDMB, please send the following information to Bernie O’Neill, Project Director via email: bernie.oneill@worlddab.org no later than Friday 5 October 2012:
1. Name, job title, and contact details of the person you wish to nominate
2. A statement of approximately 100-150 words explaining why you have nominated this person
