There are 42 transmitters in use, 27 in the mainland, 9 in Azores and 6 in Madeira, covering more than 75% of the population. Portugal's 750 km coastline is already fully served. Eventually, a national network of some 74 transmitters will cover the whole country (Mainland and Atlantic Islands of Azores and Madeira).
