Croatian radio Television (HRT), the biggest Croatian public broadcaster, has been carrying out DAB transmissions since September 1997 on Channel 12. HRT intends to extend the service coverage following the market penetration of DAB consumer receivers.

There is DAB coverage in northern Croatia, the capital city of Zagreb and its suburbs. More than 1.2 million people, which amounts to about 20% of the Croatian population, are able to receive DAB transmissions.
